Question Good Sec. for Hammer Warrior?

I've been thinking about playing again (last time was Oct '05, only got level 18 on a Sword Whammo.) and I think I want a Hammer warrior (with a Me/Mo, Mo/Me too), but I'm not sure which secondary to go. I only got Prophecies, and I plan on having decent DPS for PVE (Tanking sucks, takes too long, just wanna plow through some honkies) and KnockDown / Anti-Hex/Condition for PVP. But I'm not sure which class that would work with.

W/Mo is boring, and W/R doesn't look appealing, but I can't decide on the other three. Halp plox. Thanks.

I currently play a Warrior/Elementalist with earth magic for Aftershock and other earth skills that deal damage to knocked down targets. I allso use earth magic for skills that give armor and generaly keep me alive. It is quite fun to play, but you will have to use a +5 energy hammer and some energy runes. You will run out of energy fast otherwise

With prophecies only i would stick to necromancer for the condition transfer skill [skill]plague touch[/skill]
If I remember correctly, Prophecies monk henchies can't remove condition, shame on them! And don't expect picked up monks to do it either.

Hammer warriors don't need secondaries. For pve purposes I wouldn't recommend using your secondary on a hammer warrior whatever you go for. So go for whatever letter combo you feel has most prestige or aesthetic appeal. KD-AS is pretty rubbish, so is bb->holy strike. Everything else isn't really hammer specific, just utility of choice - plague touch being probably the strongest one for a proph-only owner.

I have used secondaries on a hammer warrior but when I do I find myself thinking, do I really need to? Pure warrior works wonders just pack a heavy attack chain, add counter blow, a speed boost, an IAS and a rez and your set.

But really any class can work as a secondary if used well, some skills have a good conjuction with hammers KD but most of the time you only need hammer skills for damage.

I will agree on what most said here best to be an Ele if you are worried about conditions you could use mending touch. There is always I will Survive for that..I probably wouldn't use any secondary all Warrior.

Aftershock is bad.

Going pure Warrior isn't too sloppy; Warriors usually only need 1-2 skills from their secondaries anyway. If you decide to bring all warrior skills, go /Mo for Rebirth.

i got a W/Mo, and it seems to work fine, when I use the Monk skills. But you'll end up finding yourself using all of the warrior skills, and not too many secondary skills, from any prof. Because warrior is able to support itself.

you don't need a zealous hammer, its just a bit better since you're gonna use an IAS, which means 5 more energy, considering that a warrior got 20 base energy and that you shouldn't need glads, zealous is good.
he's asking for secondary skills to use, I give him some. Though I agree that pure warrior is often best.

I would say armor of earth + rush; to compensate the absence of a shield but, really, I've always been using a pure warrior and they rock; Just pack up a nice combo for knock down and be happy with that!

I have never really liked zealous for a hammer. It doesn't bring as much energy in as I feel it should. Similar to 1/5 vs 1/3 for vampiric, it seems like zealous should be 1/2 instead of 1/1, but that would probably be overpowered.

Shock is a Proph skill if you want even more KD, but you probably don't need it. Another optoin with W/E would be using a water snare to keep someone in place while you get to them and then KD them when you get there, if building adrenaline and then switching, or to keep them in place while you build adrenaline. Frozen Burst and Shard Storm would both be good candidates for this depending on how you want to use it.

I had a W/Me for a long time that worked well with KD and interrupts. I usually ran with p-drain and leech sig and sometimes CoF instead of one of them (with only a few points in their respective attributes). It was fun, but not the best option. The W/Me also works well if you use Hexbreaker (when not running a better stance) or Shatter Hex, but SH takes a significant investment to make worthwhile. Inspired Enchantment/Drain Enchantment/Shatter Enchantment work well to get a irksome Aegis or soemthing.

Zealous makes you lose 1 energy every 3 seconds. Hammers swing every 1.75 seconds.
